If Plum by Bent Chair was a new guy in Bollywood, I say you would be star-struck by now. This restaurant is a complete package. Its a treat for your eyes and it has content, meaning…its built to entertain your taste buds.
Plum is a collaboration between Priyank Sukhija’s First Fiddle Restaurants and Bent Chair, an e-tailer home decor brand by Natasha Jain. This is indeed a #plumazing place with decor to die for, given the fact that Bent Chair is redefining the landscape of fine dining in our country.
Leaving all the usual details aside, let’s talk about the real stuff – its food.
The restaurant features a Pan Asian menu by Chef Sagar Bajaj. So, for those of you who don’t know, here are two points about the chef. First, he has a penchant for experiments. Second, he is known for his personal touch over the food services he curates.
So, although he is the maestro of Plum and First Fiddle Restaurants, don’t be surprised if he happens to be in the restaurant and he approaches your table just to ask ‘how did you like the food’. For this reason, you will find his recommendations written under each section on the menu.
What’s more defining is that the Chef doesn’t have a background in Asian culinary. Therefore, a long eight months of study and practice has gone into the making of Plum’s menu.
So, at Plum by Bent Chair if you are itching to have some not just good but awesome (let’s remove the overexploited term ‘authentic’ over here) Asian food, then you can trust to empty your pockets in this restaurant.
For a sushi lover that I am, imagine my delight when an endless variety of sushi was served to me. Vegetable sushi, prawn sushi, fish sushi, egg sushi, chicken sushi, etc. This restaurant even has a Nutella sushi in its menu for the dessert lovers.
While the success to creating a Pan Asian menu is quite tasty, there are certain twists and experiments rendered (let’s say, creative liberty) to suit the Indian palate.
The tightly stuffed Thai Basil Tofu, made from fresh tofu and vegetables along with a combination of FIVE spices, is the crown of the menu for any strictly-vegetarian customer. Also, if you are somebody who loves to have chicken with your bread, try the Chicken Puffsome. This is made from Roasted Chicken, Five spices and baked puffs.
We have all tasted the usual dimsums, mostly the vegetarian and the non-vegetarian versions. If you want to experience more varieties, you should definitely visit Plum by Bent Chair. One of the dimsums listed is the Crystal dumplings. You can actually see through the skin of the dumpling to see the stuffing of the dumpling and this ultra-thin skin gives extra smooth texture to the dumplings. One other very noticeable feature is also the prawn dumplings.
This restaurant is perhaps the best place for your ever-hungry Chinese, Thai or Japanese food and drinks. Shrimps, Prawns, chickens and Thai style curries are galore to make your food experience grander. Rice is richer in this restaurant, you might not believe me, but just check out the variety over there. If you love fitness ideas, here is a surprise for you – Green Tea Rice.
Nothing surprising from Priyank, an entrepreneur with the Midas Touch on food. Chef Sagar Bajaj has done a marvellous job investing not only his talent but expanding his passion for food and culinary artistry. With an average cost of INR 1,800 for two people, this restaurant is in every way your Go-To place for sumptuous and luxurious Pan Asian cuisines.
